PEERS partners meet in Dublin

A two-day meeting held on 10-11 September 2024 to discuss about the project's state of play

On 10-11 September 2024, PEERS partners gathered in Dublin to have a General Assembly meeting. Indeed, the 2-day meeting was a precious occasion to go through the activities and results achieved so far in the project’s second year and to facilitate discussion on the tasks and objectives planned to be achieved in the third year.

Each partner reported on their work on the tasks for which they are responsible, underlining relevant aspects and raising discussion on open points to be agreed. Special emphasis was put on the state of the art of PEERS ecosystem, the one-stop access for stakeholders to acquire knowledge on official standards, guidance notes, standard operational procedures and current research initiatives related to CBRN-E. In particular, during the meeting partners agreed on the ambition to further facilitate the access to relevant information in a hierarchical way depending on the type of user accessing the platform, being e.g., a policymaker, a CBRN-E specialist.

The main goal of PEERS is in fact to support practitioners and policymakers in having immediate and easy access to knowledge on the CBRN-E field, also thanks to the integration of VR-powered solutions enhancing their communication and collaboration. At present, the Beta version of the ecosystem is ready to be released and will be discussed during the second project review meeting that PEERS will have in November with the European Commission representatives. This will be an important milestone for PEERS to be achieved prior to entering the project’s third year.

Another important topic discussed was related to the upcoming Demonstrators events. On 16-23-30 October 2024, three online events will take place online to walk CBRN-E practitioners through PEERS ecosystem, to gain user-friendly knowledge about three subject-specific focuses (i.e., Decontamination and Medical countermeasures, NATO standards uptake in civil applications and Standard Operating Procedures) and gain their feedback on development for its further improvement.

While there is still much to be done, the General Assembly meeting was a moment for PEERS partners to acknowledge the huge progress made by the entire project team, as well as to brainstorm ideas and enhance the enthusiasm of the team for the year to come.

Looking forward to working on the next steps, we invite CBRN-E practitioners and responders to join us and register to the Demonstrators events in October by clicking on the links below:
