PEERS project is glad to announce its second webinar co-organised with the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI)!
The PEERS project and the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) are excited to invite you to a joint webinar on 24 January 2025, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. CET. This event marks the second collaboration between these two organisations, following the success of the first webinar held in December 2023. Titled “Understanding standardisation and decoding its application in CBRN-E”, this webinar will continue the vital conversation around European research and standardisation in societal and citizen security, with a particular focus on Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRN-E) incidents.
This upcoming session will focus on how standardisation plays a critical role in shaping a safer, more resilient Europe, especially when responding to complex CBRN-E cross-border situations. As part of PEERS’ co-creation approach to developing new pre-standards and standards, the webinar aims to bring together policymakers, CBRN-E practitioners, representatives of national and European standardisation bodies, as well as CBRN-E experts to explore collaborative solutions in the field.
After delving into the critical role of standardisation in shaping Europe’s approach to CBRN-E threats to facilitate coordinated actions during emergencies, the latest updates to the European CBRN-E Role Definition Glossary will be provided to guests. Developed through research by the PEERS project and approved by CEN/TC391 (Societal and Citizen Security), this technical specification document is a crucial tool for establishing clarity and consistency in the roles defined for various stakeholders during a CBRN-E incident. It therefore aims to foster a shared understanding, reducing the risk of miscommunication and inappropriate actions during cross-border incidents.
Finally, the webinar will feature an interactive showcase of the CBRN-E Knowledge Hub, an innovative collaborative platform created by the PEERS project. The Hub serves as a dynamic resource, designed to promote information sharing and enhance the overall effectiveness of CBRN-E response teams by providing access to the latest strategies and tools.
By attending, participants will not only gain valuable insights but also have the opportunity to provide feedback that will help enhance the PEERS project’s efforts to bring a transformational change in the CBRN-E environment through standardisation.
